The Tengshi B5, like its "big brother" B8, aims to shake up the traditional large off-road SUV market.
Although they adopt a non load bearing body structure like popular models such as the Toyota Prado, they only offer plug-in hybrid systems.
Tengshi is a high-end export brand of Chinese giant BYD, and some models sold in the Chinese market are presented under both Tengshi and Equation Leopard brands.
B5 and B8 are now open for ordering, and B5 will be delivered to customers starting from late January 2026.
The B5 is slightly smaller in size than the Toyota Prado and only offers a five seater layout. The starting price is $74990 Australian dollars (excluding on road costs) - the entry-level Prado GX is $2490 Australian dollars more expensive. In the top of the line B5 Leopard version, the price is $79990 Australian dollars (excluding on road expenses).
This high-end model not only adds more luxurious features, but also is equipped with BYD's DiSus-P adjustable hydraulic suspension, which can adjust the body height and suspension softness.
The first batch of 2000 B5 and B8 customers will receive a free premium paint and interior upgrade worth $1818.

Power system and energy consumption performance
Both Denza B5 models are equipped with the same plug-in hybrid system and a four-wheel drive system with electrically controlled front and rear differential locks. They all use front and rear double wishbone suspension, but only the Leopard flagship version is equipped with DiSus-P adjustable hydraulic suspension. B5 supports vehicle to vehicle discharge (V2L) and can supply power to small electrical appliances.

The topping out maintenance plan is also being planned, but the specific cost has not yet been announced.
